Tkisko Mini Projector
Tkisko is a budget-friendly mini projector that produces a larger image in less feet than a typical mini projector. This is a great projector if you have 55″ or more between your ceiling and cutting surface.
Overall Thoughts and Impressions of the Tkisko Mini Projector
This projector caught my eye on Amazon because it looked very similar to the Sovboi brand mini projector that I have reviewed previously.
After hand-testing this projector as well, I can confirm that if you like the Sovboi, your opinion of the Tkisko will be the same.
They have many of the same features, including a budget-friendly low-price for a large image projector.

Tkisko Throw Ratio and Image Size
For the Tkisko projector review, I set up the projector at a distance of 57.5” from lens to table. At that distance I got an image of 26” x 46.25”, over the size of an A1 mat (24”x36”). This is a great image size for sewing!
This size will fit children’s clothes, adult tops, and pants. You will still need to shift fabric for maxi dresses, adult jumpers, and any pattern pieces wider than 26”. Make sure to check out this article on how to cut a pattern piece larger than your projection!
The throw ratio I calculated using the horizontal width was 1.24. This is the same as the Sovboi projector and a larger image than the Acrojoy 9000. In fact, this is the lowest throw ratio for a “mini” projector that I have found below $100 new! (The Sovboi is also under $100).
You will be able to get a clear image at 32” away, but I recommend having AT LEAST 47” from lens to table to get an image size that is 24”x36” (A1 size mat) or 55” from ceiling to table.
The higher you can mount, the large the image will be! But, I wouldn’t go over 9 feet as the image quality can start to degrade.
Ease of Calibration
I found this projector only slightly harder for a beginner to calibrate. That is because this projector does not have any keystone correction.
Even though there is a keystone button on the remote control, it doesn’t operate the keystone on the projector. No manual nor digital keystone comes with the projector.
However, I was able to adjust the projector making physical tilts and movements to calibrate it.
The offset of the projector is “inside”. The image is centered right below the lens.
So, you will need to mount the projector directly above your cutting surface. The ceiling will be the best mount option, but the wall can work if you use an extension arm to position the projector above the center of the table.
If you don’t have the projector far enough from the wall, your image will hit the wall. Make sure to turn on your projector and hold it where you are going to mount it before installing a mount.
Using a Windows 11 laptop, I was able to calibrate the Tkisko projector in Adobe with a 30.2% zoom at a distance of 57.5”.
Brightness and Contrast
The brightness and contrast of the Tkisko projector were okay.
The stated brightness is 9000 lumens. For comparison purposes, I got 113 Lux lumens when I measured this projector in use, which is just under the 128 Lux lumens reading I got for the Vivimage Explore 2 mini projector.*
It was bright and clear enough to see pattern lines, but don’t expect the light brightness to compare with more expensive projectors.

Connectivity
The Tkisko projector has all the connection options that you could want in a sewing projector, including HDMI and Wi-Fi connections.
The projector needs to be connected to your home Wi-Fi. Then, it can connect to any computer or phone connected to the same Wi-Fi signal using screen mirroring/Miracast.
I tested connections using HDMI, iOS screen mirror, and Miracast. The connection was straight-forward and the signal seemed strong. The image size was consistent across all connections.
Body Design
Compact and light are how I would describe the Sovboi projector. It is 6.5in x 5in x 2.6 inches and weighs only 1.1 lbs.
HDMI and other connections exit the side of the projector.
The power cable is a different design than most other projectors I have reviewed. It attaches to the back of the projector.
I recommend ordering or having an extension cable hand in order to set up the projector.
The included power cable is too short unless you have a plug in the ceiling!
How to Mount
The Tkisko mini projector reviewed has a single-point mount ¼” hole on the back of the projector. You can use a DIY mount or any universal single-point projector mount.
Here is my recommended ones! The best mount for this project is the custom-made sewing projector mount available on ProjectorSewing.com. However, there are a few available on Amazon that work okay too.

Tkisko Recommendation
I do recommend this projector for sewing! While its brightness and contrast are not amazing, the image size and price is!
The image is still bright and clear enough to see pattern lines in a dim room. Don’t expect the clarity and brightness of more expensive projectors.
The image size is very close to being a short-throw projector! The Tkisko and Sovboi projectors produce the largest image of any of the mini projectors that have been reviewed.
If you need a short throw projector, check if this budget projector will work for you!
Measure the distance you have from ceiling to table. Subtract about 8 inches for mounting. This will be your “throw distance”.
Throw distance ÷ 1.24 (throw ratio of Sovboi and Tkisko) = Horizontal image size (A1 mat is 36”)
For the price and image size, the Tkisko projector is a highly recommended projector for sewing!
A good price range for this projector is $70-$100 US. There is sometimes a coupon available on Amazon that will not show in the product box below. I probably wouldn’t spend more than that on this budget short focal range projector.

Alternative to the Tkisko Mini Projector
