Want Us to Review Your Projector?
We are always on the lookout for projectors that are a good fit for sewing. We look for at least 720p native resolution, a minimum focus distance of about 52 inches, and decent brightness and contrast.
There are three main groups of projectors for sewing:
“Mini” projectors: These are the cheaper and smaller home movie and gaming projectors that are typically under $200.
Short-throw Projectors: Sewists are limited by the ceiling height and love to have a large image size. This means that most short-throw projectors work beautifully for sewing. Some sewists have a limiting factor of budget.
Ultra-short throw projectors: Ultra-short throw projectors are a popular choice for sewists who cannot mount their projector or need a large projection.
